We know you have a lot of things to set up after moving into a new city, and we wanted to make it a little easier for you. Here is a list of some of the businesses, services, and utilities that people need the most after moving to a new city. Let us know if you can think of any more, and we’ll add them to the list.
Electricity
Most of the energy in BC is created through hydro dams, and BC Hydro maintains the service for the province.
Natural Gas
If you need to arrange for natural gas delivery, FORTIS BC is the main provider throughout the province.
Water
Contact the CRD (Capital Regional District) to set up your water utility account.

Waste
Garbage pickup, and recycling is also managed by the city.

Update your driver’s license with a new address, and talk to ICBC about making sure you have the best coverage for your vehicle.
